Manual High-Bay Racking: Structure and Areas of Application
A high-bay racking is a special type of warehouse that is characterized by very high racking systems and enables particularly space-saving storage of large quantities. In manual high-bay rackings, the racking consists of stable structures that are often also used as load-bearing elements for the building. The racking systems generally reach heights of 12 to 15 meters and are designed to safely accommodate pallets or other load units. The manual high-bay rackings are operated by industrial trucks such as forklift trucks or reach trucks, which store and retrieve the goods. A warehouse management system is often used for organization in order to maintain an overview.
