For a warehouse to be used optimally, correct master data is required. Master data refers to the length, width, height, and weight of the items to be stored. This data can be determined using measurement techniques and then added to the ERP or WMS system. To ensure that the item data is captured accurately, it is advisable to automate this process using a volume measurement device. With a volume measuring device, it is possible to automatically capture all relevant item master data, both dimensions, and other logistically relevant attributes, and transfer them directly to the ERP or WMS system via interfaces.
