The Truck for Narrow-Aisle Warehouses
A very narrow aisle truck, also known as a high-rack stacker or VNA-truck, is a specialized industrial truck for warehouses with particularly narrow aisles and high racking. It enables space-saving storage as it can work in aisles that are only around 1.5 to 1.8 meters wide. There are two main types: Man-Up devices, where the driver is lifted with the cab (e.g. for order picking), and Man-Down devices, where only the forks are lifted. The forks can usually be swiveled so that pallets can be picked up and deposited both frontally and sideways - without having to turn the vehicle itself. For safe navigation, many models have mechanical or inductive guidance systems that keep them on track and make operation easier. When selecting a narrow-aisle truck, criteria such as rack height, aisle width, type of goods, load capacity and, if necessary, picking frequency and ergonomics of the cabin should be taken into account.
