Functionality of the Pocket Sorter

The pocket sorter is a logistics system for transporting, buffering, sorting and sequencing articles. These systems are mainly used when goods picked on an article-by-article basis are to be distributed to customer orders as part of a two-stage picking process. In this context, articles from different warehouse systems and/or areas can also be consolidated fully automatically. There are also pocket sorter systems that can additionally be used as temporary storage systems from which the articles are picked fully automatically. These are preferably used for returns or for other goods where prompt picking is expected. In addition, pocket sorter systems can enable the consolidation of hanging and lying goods in one system.
