Efficient Storage of Long Goods: Cantilever Racking at a Glance
Cantilever racking is a special racking system developed primarily for the storage of long, bulky or heavy goods such as pipes, profiles, wooden panels, collis or steel beams. Cantilever Rackings do not have continuous shelves, but consist of vertical uprights to which horizontal arms, known as cantilevers, are attached. The cantilever arms are either welded to the uprights (non-adjustable/fixed) or attached using hook or screw connections. The load is carried by the cantilever arms. The length and spacing of these depends on the stored goods. The open design of cantilever racking enables simple and fast loading and unloading, both manually and with industrial trucks such as counterbalance trucks. Storage and retrieval takes place at right angles to the racking. They are usually modular in design and can be flexibly extended or adapted. In this way, storage of pallets or other packaging units is also conceivable.
