Determine the Frequency of Alternating between Driving and Walking
Getting in and out of the vehicle is characterised by employees leaving the vehicle. This usually results in an alternation between driving and walking. For a distance of more than about 5 meters, it is better to drive than to walk. For shorter distances, walking is faster because of the effort required to get in and out of the vehicle.

Motion-Mining®
In the context of a Motion-Mining® project, it is possible to determine how often an activity takes place in a certain length of a segment. This can be used to determine how often people are walking distances that are too long and how often people are driving distances that are too short.

Process Observation and Timing
In a process observation, time can be recorded using a stopwatch or similar application. This can also be used to determine time or frequency in specific segments if all segments are recorded separately. Thus it can be determined how often walking distances are too long and how often driving distances are too short.

Determine the Total Effort for Entering and Exiting a Vehicle
Each entry and exit causes an unproductive pause. The total effort can be calculated by the frequency and the individual effort.

The MTM lists contain values for entering and exiting as well as starting and stopping different types of vehicles.

In a process observation, the proportion of time can be recorded with the help of a stopwatch or a corresponding app.

RoI Calculation
The RoI is calculated by the total effort for 'wrong' entering and exiting per day. It should be noted, however, that the distance travelled on foot is now slightly longer than before.
