Automation of Racking Movements

Mobile racking is a combination of mobile racking and AGVs that move the racking to enable goods-to-person picking. Basically, it is an automated storage and picking system for multi-channel logistics. Here, mobile robots navigate the individual shelves where the required items are stored. They lift the shelves and transport them to a picking station where an order picker is located. The picker removes all the articles to be picked from the shelves and places them in the individual order totes. After successful picking, the robot either moves the shelf to another picking station or places it in a free storage location. At the picking stations, there are usually several vehicles waiting to provide the picker with items to be picked up continuously.
