Compact Storage of Slow Movers

Mobile pallet racking is the preferred choice for slow-moving items (C-items) to create compact storage blocks and provide a high level of item access security. Mobile rackings are a combination of block and line storage where the individual rows of racking are moved horizontally. The racks are mounted on a mobile racking shuttle. The mobile racking shuttle moves on rails that are mounted on the floor. It can be moved electrically by individual drives or manually by chains and drivers. When the shuttle is moved an aisle opens up between the rows of shelves from which staff can pick goods. Typically, the manual or motorised option is selected depending on the size and carrying capacity of the mobile racking shuttle. All types of storage systems, such as pallet, shelved or cantilever racking, can be set up as mobile racking.
