The mesh box (1,200 × 800 mm, EPAL-compliant) combines the advantages of a pallet with those of an open steel mesh container—it is stackable, sturdy, and interchangeable within the EPAL system. It is particularly suitable for irregularly shaped, bulky, or heavy parts that cannot be transported safely on an open pallet and for which a closed KLT container would be too small. The EPAL mesh box is one of the most widely used exchangeable mesh boxes worldwide—it is indispensable, particularly in the automotive industry. Typical applications include the automotive sector, mechanical engineering, metal processing, and spare parts logistics. In production, mesh boxes often serve as buffer and staging containers directly on the production line; in the warehouse, they are used for storing C-parts, screws, small components, or bulk goods that do not fit in KLT containers.
