Compact Storage of Slow-Moving Items
Mobile racking is particularly suitable for slow-moving items (C-items) to create compact storage blocks and ensure easy access to the items. Mobile racking combines block and aisle storage, with individual rack aisles being moved horizontally. The racks are mounted on a mobile rack trolley. The mobile carriage moves on rails that are mounted on the floor. Shifting can be performed electrically via individual drives or manually using chains and pullers. When shifted, an aisle opens between the rack rows, from which employees can retrieve goods. Typically, the choice between the manual or motorized version depends on the size and load capacity of the rack carriage. All types of storage systems, such as pallet, shelf, or cantilever racks, can be configured as mobile racks, allowing the mobile rack to be used for storing pallets, small parts, and long items alike.
