Advantages and areas of application of shuttle systems for small load carrier storage

Shuttle storage systems for small load carriers (SLC) are used when efficient storage, handling and automated movement of small to medium-sized parts and products is required. It is a compact storage system in which a trolley (shuttle vehicle) moves on rails inside the storage channels. Depending on the design, the shuttle vehicle can transport one or more load carriers at the same time. Standardized small parts bins are generally used as load carriers, which can vary in size and volume depending on the application. When planning the system a bin size must be specified depending on the product sizes and quantities to be stored. It is also possible to store the bin units in single or multiple depths in the racking system.
