1. Briefly describe your company and product.
We are Fb Industry Automation, based in Gleisdorf in Eastern Styria (Austria). Our company was founded in 2008 by Werner Frissenbichler - today we already have over 75 employees. We specialize in the optimization and automation of intralogistics processes - especially in production and distribution logistics. Our focus is on both the modernization of existing systems and the development of new, individually tailored automation solutions. In addition to our own products, such as the various Fb Shuttle Solutions, we are particularly active as a system integrator and take care of the optimization of intralogistics processes for various companies in the DACH region and throughout Europe.
2. What problem do you solve?
Many logistics processes are still highly manual and are increasingly reaching their limits - whether in terms of efficiency, space utilization or scalability. This is exactly where we come in: FB Industry Automation modernizes existing systems through retrofitting or develops tailor-made, fully automated warehouse solutions. Our expertise goes beyond hardware - we think in terms of software and offer everything from system control to ERP connection. Our holistic approach ensures individual solutions that specifically address current challenges.
3. What are your USPs?
Fb Industry Automation supplies 360+ complete intralogistics systems from a single source. Unique automation solutions for the production requirements of the future. From initial automation to system expansions and retrofit projects, there is a tailor-made and flexibly scalable solution for every initial situation. The complete systems are controlled using the company's own high-performance Fb Stash software. Intuitive and simple, the warehouse management system can automate the entire intralogistics process, including third-party devices.
4. Provide a concrete use case or success story that illustrates how your solution works in practice.
An excellent example of the successful implementation of Fb Industry Automation is the project with NAGEL Maschinen- und Werkzeugfabrik GmbH. In this case, the challenge was to develop and implement an efficient and automated small parts warehouse (AKL). NAGEL, a renowned manufacturer of machines and tools, was looking for a solution to optimize the storage and management of small parts, reduce space requirements and shorten access times. Fb Industry Automation provided a customized solution based on state-of-the-art automation technology. The shuttle-based automated small parts warehouse (AKL) enabled structured and space-saving storage, which significantly accelerated access to stock. By using Fb shuttle devices integrated into a bin storage system with the in-house intelligent software control system Fb-STASH, every item can now be located precisely and quickly. This has led to a significant increase in process efficiency and a reduction in manual errors.
With the new miniload solution from Fb Industry Automation, NAGEL was able to maximize storage capacity, reduce operating costs and improve overall process speed. This illustrates how sophisticated automation solutions can revolutionize a company's logistics processes by saving space, increasing accuracy and maximizing efficiency. Feedback from Nagel showed a high level of satisfaction with the implemented solution and confirmed the significant benefits in terms of efficiency and cost savings.
5. What future developments or trends do you see in the logistics industry and how are you preparing as a company?
Technologies such as vertical farming, manufacturing, AMRs (autonomous mobile robots), AGVs (automated guided vehicles) and robotics are on the rise in the logistics sector. Vertical farming and manufacturing optimize the use of space and production processes, while AMRs and AGVs automate the flow of goods and make warehouses more efficient. Robotics take on complex tasks such as picking and packing, increasing accuracy and speed.
