5 in 5 with Stefan from S2data
In the latest episode of our podcast “Logistics Solutions - 5 questions in 5 minutes”, we welcome Stefan Kremsner from s2data. He talks about the role of data analysis and artificial intelligence in logistics as well as the current challenges facing the industry. s2data supports companies in making their logistics processes more transparent, efficient and future-proof through data-driven solutions.
Stefan Kremsner of s2data talks about the benefits of data-driven solutions in logistics.Listen to the episode here or continue reading the blog to find out the answers to the five key questions.
1. Briefly describe your company and product.
S2data is a software startup that helps companies in the automotive, manufacturing and logistics services industries optimize their transportation and route planning. Our solution uses intelligent algorithms to plan routes more efficiently, consolidate loads and make the best use of available cargo space. As a result, we help companies reduce costs, make transportation more sustainable, and improve the efficiency of their logistics processes.
2. What problem do you solve?
Many companies struggle with inefficient transportation processes that result in high costs and unnecessary carbon emissions. Sub-optimal route planning leads to empty trips, while under-utilized cargo space leaves full transportation potential untapped. Our software solves these challenges by not only calculating the best routes, but also using intelligent 3D loading to ensure that the available cargo space is optimally utilized. In addition, the software enables efficient load consolidation, intelligently combining multiple shipments to avoid empty runs and better utilize transportation capacity.
3. What are your USPs?
S2data's strength lies in the combination of intelligent technologies. Our software offers not only optimized route planning, but also AI-assisted loading optimization that makes maximum use of transport capacities. Using artificial intelligence, transportation and loading scenarios can be simulated to find the most efficient solution. Companies benefit from flexible integration with existing ERP and TMS systems, allowing S2data to fit seamlessly into existing structures. The result is fewer trips, lower costs, reduced emissions and more sustainable logistics.
4. Provide a concrete use case or success story that illustrates how your solution works in practice.
Automotive supplier Yanfeng used S2data to optimize transportation planning across its locations in Europe, North and South America, and Africa. Prior to the implementation, transportation management was characterized by static delivery patterns and fixed routes, resulting in under-utilized trucks and avoidable costs. Using the S2data platform, dynamic and automated transport planning was introduced, integrating material supply, production fluctuations and stock levels. The 3D load optimization increased the average transportation utilization from 70.9% to 92.2%, saving on transportation, reducing costs and avoiding CO₂ emissions. S2data's solution combines transportation and material planning, making it possible to avoid transportation in the first place - a decisive step towards more sustainable and efficient production logistics.
5. What future developments or trends do you see in the logistics industry and how are you preparing as a company?
The logistics industry is undergoing profound changes and S2data is actively preparing for future developments. The demand for optimized cargo space utilization and sustainable transportation solutions is constantly growing. This is why we are continuously investing in the development of our 3D loading and load consolidation solutions to offer companies even greater savings potential. Artificial intelligence will play an increasingly important role in the transportation industry. We are using machine learning to further optimize our algorithms to make supply chains more resilient and efficient. We are also focusing on even tighter integration with existing systems to enable companies to seamlessly connect to their logistics and ERP systems. At a time when cost pressure and sustainability are critical factors, S2data offers an intelligent, data-driven solution to best position companies for the challenges of the future.
