Determine the Segment Lengths of Travel Times
Long transport journeys are characterised by employees walking or driving for a long time in one go. It is therefore necessary to look more closely at the segment lengths of these activities.
A
Motion-Mining®
As part of a Motion-Mining® project, it is possible to determine how often an activity occurs in a given segment length.
B
Process Observation and Timing
In a process observation, time can be recorded using a stopwatch or an app. If all segments are recorded separately, this can also be used to determine the time or frequency in particular segments.
2
Identifying the Potential for Savings through Route Reduction
The new routes can be estimated by recording the distances between new pick-up and drop-off points. The walking/driving speeds can be used to calculate how long it took an employee to complete the route before and how long it will take in the future. The difference and the frequency of occurrence give the potential savings.
