Structure of Horizontal Rotary Rack
In a horizontal rotary rack, also called horizontal carousel storage, shelves with a uniform length, width and depth form the basis of the entire system. The shelves arranged one above the other form a coherent unit called a shelf column. These shelving columns are mounted on wheels in a rail. To give the shelving columns additional stability, they are usually fitted with wheels that run on a track on the floor and support the shelving columns from the floor. A carousel storage system consists of several columns of shelving suspended side by side and moved by a single drive, like a circular conveyor. Thus, the racks and with them the storage units are moved on a horizontally circulating conveyor chain along the circulation axis. These movements along the circulation axis are continue until the desired goods or the empty storage location has arrived at the pick-up or delivery station. The transfer points can be installed at different levels.
